Advanced Microscopy and Imaging Sales Representative (Western United States)

JOB DESCRIPTION:
To strengthen advanced imaging and live cell confocal, TIRF and FRAP sales in the Western United States, Technical Instruments is seeking an experienced Advanced Microscopy and Imaging Specialist. 
 
Overall Summary:
The Advanced Microscopy and Imaging Specialist objectives are to maintain and generate new sales in existing and targeted accounts. Primary objective is to increase volume and market share of Technical Instruments advanced imaging and spinning disk product line.  Activities include product training, market education, sales consultation, demonstrations, customer training, installation and system support. Advanced Microscopy and Imaging Specialist is responsible for demonstrating a high level of proficiency in optical microscopy, biological research applications, selling, relationship building and maintenance. He/she should also be able to master and utilize the latest selling, presentation and sales productivity software to achieve territory sales targets, call cycle development, planning, tracking, and expense management. 
 
Job Responsibilities:
  • - Meet or exceed net sales and profit targets under the supervision of the Advanced Imaging manager.
  • - Segment territory using SalesForce CRM and identify key customer targets and sales objectives to increase territory sales, volume and profit 
  • - Conduct and prepare pre-call planning and call objectives, and anticipate likely objections; understand motivations and establish a relationship as a trusted advisor
  • - Treats the territory as a business by creating and executing territory plan management and marketing to effectively to achieve goals
  • - Increase sales by effectively communicating the advantages and benefits of working with Technical Instruments because of product knowledge, integration and support capabilities.  
  • - Schedule, plan, develop and conduct on-site appointments, consulting, installations, training and support. 
  • - Establish a positive, productive and collaborative working relationships with Technical Instruments and it’s sales and support staff
  • - Operate with the highest ethical standard during every customer interaction and in alignment with Technical Instruments business motto and philosophies
  • - Input accurate and timely reports via our CRM management tool
  • - Expected Travel 60% of time 
  • - Efficiently manage travel cost and leverage smart spending techniques
  • - Prepare and submit timely expense reports
  • - Troubleshoot hardware and software problems
  • - Work with lasers
  • - Lift items over 50lbs
 
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a Life Sciences field. Advanced degree a definite advantage.
- Firm understanding of advanced microscopy techniques and related science applications.
- Optical sales experience preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical and computer skills required
